Puppy class is an amazing opportunity for puppies to play and socialize together. In this class we start working on some of the basic cues such as eye contact, and hand targeting to name a few. Puppies get to work through a fun obstacle course with their handler which helps build the bond between puppy and human and also builds confidence in the puppy.
Where & When?
Puppy Class is for dogs between 9-16 weeks of age. It is held at the Team Fido Training Hall (3165 Lakefield Road Unit 3) Mondays at noon. Class is 45 minutes long and the cost is $25 (HST included) per class.
Small Breed Play Group
This is a great way for dogs to have fun, gain confidence and socialize with other dogs in a safe environment.
Dogs must be 20lbs or smaller and up to date on shots. Class is $25 (HST included) per session and is 45 minutes long.
Where & When?
Mondays at 10:00am at the Team Fido Training Hall (3165 Lakefield Road Unit 3)
Private training is an amazing way to work on many different skills with your dog. We can do the basics, walking skills, as well as other issues such as door way greetings or anything else you may be struggling with. The great thing about private training is it can be tailored to you and your dog’s needs.
I truly believe that dogs of any age can learn new skills so whether you have a puppy, or an adult dog I am happy to help.
Just like people many dogs experience anxiety. I feel it is important to recognize this in dogs. This is one of the many reasons I train using positive reward based methods. I will always work at the dogs pace, building our relationship on trust, patience and fun.
Private training can be done right in the comfort of your own home. We can also arrange to meet at a park or trail if we are going to work on walking skills.
Private training rates are $90 (+HST $101.70) per session (sessions are 45 minutes long) or a package of 3 sessions for $250 (+HST $282.50).
I will travel up to 30 minutes outside of town for appointments. Travel rates will apply for further distances.
Going for a walk is a great way to spend time with your dog and enjoy the fresh air. However a lot of people struggle with walking as a lot of dogs pull for many different reasons. It could be from excitement, anxiety, stress and some dogs become reactive on a walk when they see another dog or person. This can cause a lot of frustration for humans and dogs alike. I am confident that I can teach you and your dog how to have a much more fun and enjoyable walk. For walking skills I offer a few different options.
Private Training Walks
In one on one training walks I am able to work directly with you and your dog. I will demonstrate different training games and cues that encourage your dog to check in with you regularly so that walking with a loose lead is possible. I can also teach you different techniques for dogs who are reactive to make walking a more positive and rewarding experience for both you and your dog.
I am also able to bring my dog Nakita or Harlie with me to private appointments. This is a great opportunity for your dog to practice parallel walking, gain confidence and focus on their handler while there are other distractions around. We will discuss in advance what is best for you and your dogs needs. Rates for training walks are $90 (+HST) per walk or a package of 3 for $250 (+HST).
Group Social Walks
We meet at the Greenway trail on Parkhill road East (across from the Esso and Nicholls Oval restaurant) The trail is wide enough that everyone can spread out and we can practice walking skills with a lot of distractions such as other dogs, bikers, runners and people walking. I will be there to offer help and guidance. It is a great opportunity to work around other dogs without the dogs directly interacting with each other. This will help make your dog more comfortable and confident, and strengthens your bond with your dog.
If you are interested in joining the group walk please register with me in advance.
For walking I strongly encourage using a harness. This gets all the pressure off your dogs neck and can help immediately reduce stress and anxiety. No prong or choke collars. No flexi leads either. A regular 6 foot dog lead is highly recommended. I will have some freedom no pull harnesses available for you to try if you’d like.
Thursday Mornings at 10:00 am
Please note that in the winter we meet at Nichols Oval (park by the Rugby Club)
$25 (HST included) per dog (45 minute walk)
